Online Artist #5 David Airey

Alex Ingram

Alex Ingram is a colleague of mine in the Arts & Technology. We have taken classes from photo courses to video, so I know of his work. I also had a chance to work with him in the Communications department as a graphic design intern, even though we didn't have any projects together, I still see him in the office and see the work he does.

When Alex came into our class to talk about his plan after graduating, I was happy that he got into an awesome art school with Pratt. He mentioned that the work he put into his portfolio and stuff for his application to graduate school was a lot more grueling compared to the work he's done here at school. He talked about how important it was to put yourself as an artist out there, by setting up a portfolio, a website of your best work, and blogs about your work and thought behind it. Its important to set up an online portfolio because people will look at it and you never know who will be looking and could possibly be a great opportunity. 

Ash Thorp

When Ash Thorp came into our class and talked about his life after college. I was really amazed at how far hes gotten in the art field and how everything is coming into place for him. I really liked how he didn't stop learning new programs and honing his skills on the art programs. He would buy tutorials online that he would need so that he can use that in projects for himself or for employers. All that work paid off when he told us that he got a job at Prologue. To be honest, i didn't know what that was, but when he explained what they do. I was stunned that he was able to have a shot in that kind of industry. Especially someone that came from the same university that I am attending. It goes to show, it don't matter what school you attend, whether it is a private art institute or university, it is the skills you obtain that you obtain and the will power to keep on learning and improving. 

Online Artist #5 David Airey

I found another graphic designer who has more of a professional online portfolio and his name is David Airey. Airey has accomplished a lot as an artist of different mediums. On his website, http://www.davidairey.com/category/graphic-design/, I found it easy to view and is organize, so you can visually see what he has done. He has categorized all his work in different links, he has done works from graphic design, advertising, photography, typography, web and etc.
